A valuable Fellowships program

The biT Fellowships for Excellence, a CIHR Strategic Training Program Grant in Bioinformatics, have been developed by Dr. Gertraud Burger, Leader of Bioinformatics programs at Université de Montréal. From 2003 to 2009, this program has supported 125 graduate in Bioinformatics and postdoctoral trainees.

More than $1,5 million (CAN) have been awarded to the most promising students in regular, extra or partnership fellowships.

These trainees have presented their work on 123 conferences and co-authors about 40 journal publications.>>

Few days later, a second biT fellow, Sivakumar Kannan made is thesis defense.

Subject : Molecular protein function prediction using sequence similarity-based and similarity-free approaches.
